2011 Tybee Island Pirate Fest
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the 2011 Tybee Island Pirate Fest. Without the help of volunteers like you this event would not be possible. We are looking for friendly, dependable, and trustworthy individuals. There are several opportunities available depending on your interest and availability.
Individuals who commit to work at least 4 hours at the festival will receive free admission on Friday and Saturday.
Main Gate: Report to: Katrina Murray and Sadie O. Gaster, 912.660.8303/katrina@devivo.net
Time: Volunteers will work in shifts. Gate will operate on Friday, Saturday, and in a limited capacity on Sunday.
- • Checking ID’s of those wishing to consume alcohol at the festival and placing a wristband around those who are 21+ years old.
- • Main Gate Cash Lane: Operating a simple cash register for cash ticket sales at the main gate and making change when necessary.
- • Main Gate Credit Card Lane: Operating a register and swipe credit card machine at the main gate for ticket sales.
- • Main Gate Will Call/Re-Entry Lane: Issuing tickets to advance purchasers and checking bands so people and re-enter.
Merchandise Booth: Report to: Tammie Harvell
Time: Volunteers will work in shifts. Booth will be open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
• Official Pirate Fest merchandise booth. Volunteers will assist in selling items to the public.
- Friday October 7th: Multiple Shifts starting at 4:00pm – 9:00pm
- Saturday October 8th: Multiple Shifts starting at 9:30am – 9:00pm
- Sunday October 9th: Multiple Shifts starting at 10:30am – 4:00pm
- Breakdown: on Sunday October 9th: 4:00pm – 7:00pm

- 10:00am-4:00pm Thursday October 6th
- 9:00am – 3:30pm Friday October 7th
- Post-event: 4:00pm-7:00pm Sunday October 9th
• Help bring a fun and festive atmosphere to the festival grounds by assisting with the decorations!

- Time: Pre-event: 9:00am-12:00pm Friday October 7th
- Post-event: 4:00pm-7:00pm Sunday October 9th
• Help decorate the children’s tent area inside the festival grounds.
• Help with childrens events.
Costume Contests: Report to: Brucie Westerman
• Assist with the sign-up and pre-judging on the adults and children’s costume contests.
